This was delicious! No more Kozy Shack for my hubby's dejeuner...hither's my few modifications...1 and three/4 loving cup cold cooked Jasmine rice and I kept everything else the same. 1 affair I did that may help y'all..I mixed together the remaining 1/2 loving cup milk, the carbohydrate and the egg together in a pourable mixing bowl. When the timing was right, I stirred the pudding with my right hand while slowly pouring the egg/milk/sugar mixture into the pudding with my left hand. I had no trouble with cooked egg pieces. Also, it only took about x minutes for the rice to get thick - don't cook information technology too long or it won't be creamy. I grated fresh nutmeg and cinnamon on top. Very good!

Substitute the regular milk for Condensed Milk, and this recipe will come out deliciously flossy.

I have a more creamy less rice pudding. Cooked it slower and stirred constantly calculation milk until information technology reached a thick, creamy consistency. This recipe was pretty good but it was missing a key ingredient for sure: cinnamon! I as well didn't apply the butter and added a little more sugar. This is a wonderful breakfast especially around the holidays!

I just made this, & the way I made information technology information technology came out great. Many of the reviewers commented that theirs came out on the runny side, so bearing that in mind I just used ane C milk, & I had 2 ii/3 cups of rice to showtime out w/. I didn't alter the other ingredients, just the milk & in ratio to the amount of rice I had to use. I was very pleased with the subsequent results, information technology tastes but like my regular rice pudding recipe, which is concocted over a double boiler. Volition definitely make this again when I have leftover rice, which is actually pretty often. Thanks for sharing!

Very good - It reminds me of my mom'southward rice pudding - she could never give me her exact recipe. It does seem to be missing something - could be creamier? Yet - I've made this several times and am happy with how it turns out. Be conscientious when adding egg to the hot rice mixture -you need to atmosphere the egg by calculation a little scrap of the hot liquid to the egg (and milk and sugar) and stir - and add more hot rice mixture and stir and then add egg mixture to the rest of the rice and mix. This gently heats up the egg so y'all don't end upward with scrambled egg in your rice pudding.

Super easy, and quite skillful. I added cinnamon, omitted rasins and rather than vanilla excerpt, I separate and scraped a half vanilla bean into the mixture. I cooked information technology. I did not use milk and saccharide, rather, I used sweetened condensed. Substituted half and half for the milk to be beaten with the egg. Oh, and i guess i forgot to put salt! I approximate I didn't really follow this recipe! I simply used information technology equally more than of a guideline! How can i go incorrect with all these carbs and sugar? I have made this rice pudding MANY times! The only thing I practice differently, is omit the raisins, temper the eggs, and use more vanilla and sugar. Sometimes subsequently the pudding has prepare, I whip some heavy cream and fold it in. Sky in a bowl!

This is, in my stance, a perfect rice pudding. I made it with ii% milk and basmati rice(the only rice I had in the house) and it turned out creamy and delicious. One tip: I would mix the beaten egg, sugar, and last 1/2 C. of milk together earlier gradually adding to the rice mixture off burner. I used cranberries instead of raisins because I prefer them.

This is tasty for a quick rice pudding. I couldn't become mine to thicken upwards very well so I sprinkled in some instant vanilla pudding. Without it the pudding was very soupy. Skillful flavor. Sprinkled with cinnamon and topped with whipped cream. Yum.

I tend to have left over rice after dinner. I program to eat it for tiffin but never go around to it. I saw this recipe and decided to give it a try. It's easy to brand and tastes succulent! I omitted the raisins and added a dash of cinnamon and nutmeg and ate information technology warm. This may give me an excuse to make a little bit more rice because of this recipe. Yummy! Thanks!

I had some leftover rice and decided I would like to make rice pudding. I went on line and it seemed every bit if all the recipes were using uncooked rice. So I found this recipe which uses cooked rice. I followed the recipe exactly with the exception of using half and one-half instead of milk. The final product tasted very good, after all what recipe with milk, eggs and sugar doesn't sense of taste skillful? Just like several of the other reviews mine never thickened upwards and was very runny, more similar soup.

Crawly!!! I love rice pudding but I hate all the piece of work with the other recipes. I made past the recipe except I added 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon and omitted the raisins. Not bad use of leftover rice. I thought mine was going to be soupy but I permit is simmer on low while I finished dinner and by the fourth dimension nosotros ate, information technology was then creamy and delicious. This is exactly what I was looking for, a recipe using cooked leftover rice, and something that didn't take long to make. I added cinnamon, a must for me in rice pudding. Sometimes I add a little nutmeg too. I used regular raisins because that's what I had on hand. Delicious!

Instead of an egg, I used 2tbsp cornstarch with 3tbsp water and added information technology with the sugar, rest of the milk, and raisins. And secondly, instead of raisins I used chopped dates.

Fantastic did everything as stated besides skipped raisons and butter. Cooked for like 10-12 minutes then added last bit of milk, egg, and sugar i had mixed together in a moisture measuring cup. So whisked that into the already cooking ingredients. Egg set up in 5ish minutes. I just kept stirring and cooking until pudding consistancy and so took off heat and information technology thickened more than. Tasted just like my dad's.

This came out delicious. I made a double recipe since the way my son loves homemade desserts, iv servings would be gone too soon. It didn't come up out runny, just nice and moist. I cooked information technology long enough to thicken it up, likewise used whole milk. I did add some cinnamon and nutmeg, this is a wonderful dessert that is not too sugariness. As with most things, I know it will thicken up more in one case you refrigerate the left overs.

Seems like a lot of people devious from the recipe, get adverse results and give low ratings. I stuck with the recipe exactly, except I did double it because of the corporeality of rice I had. Information technology turned out exactly similar it says. A rich and creamy rice pudding. It has the perfect thickness and sweetness, and I LOVE the fact that information technology doesn't call for cinnamon or baking. Perchance people are using infinitesimal rice? I don't know, mine was absolutely delicious.

The recipe is a swell starter and yous can add any you like. I added i c coconut milk and 1 c whole milk with 2 c cooked rice. I did not use the butter simply did add cinnamon. Anybody loves it and I will brand it again.

I must admit that I approximated the milk and amount of rice, adding a scrap more rice than the recipe. I also did not have gilded raisins, so I used regular ones. Simply everyone who ate information technology loved it. I know it worked when I went to the fridge and it was all gone. I chose the recipe because of the ease and limited ingredients. It was easy and good, which is two wins for me.

I used with almond milk since the only other milk I had was 1/ii%. I also put in cranberries since I had no raisins. The taste and consistency was adept. I was worried nearly it being too sparse similar the other reviewers, but I merely let the pudding sit down for a bit to thicken upward more. My son kept wanting more than and more...

Although I subbed soy milk and kokosnoot oil for milk and butter, I'm sure this recipe would also be delicious equally-is. Non overly sugariness, not too plain once it's studded with raisins - this i is a winner. Next time I'll try browning the butter (my mom's pull a fast one on) to add a new level of flavor.

I made this and it turned out neat. However afterward reading another reviews I made a couple small changes to my own. I added an extra 1/2 cup of rice. I cooked the milk rice and salt down until it was a thick mixture. I mixed the egg white saccharide and the rest of the milk together earlier mixing them with the cooked mixture. I too added a whole tap of vanilla instead of the requested 1/2. Much thicker sugariness rice pudding.

Nice and like shooting fish in a barrel to make and it did become prissy and creamy. However, I establish the pudding to exist quite banal. I added cinnamon as well just was still unimpressed with the flavor. Nix to really grab my attending. Maybe if chocolate-brown sugar or maple syrup was used in place of the white sugar it would accept had a improve flavor.

Absolutely delicious! I followed the recipe pretty closely, except I didn't have to await 15-xx minutes for my milk and rice mixture to thicken. It was very thick in roughly 10 minutes! I had it on medium and was stirring the whoooole time. The extra milk definitely loosened it up and so subsequently I added the sugar and eggs (and some cinnamon and nutmeg lol) I kept information technology on the rut and stirred for mayhap another five-ten minutes. I was wary about the butter but it actually made a deviation! The pudding tastes richer! This recipe is admittedly wonderful! Thanks and then much for sharing!

Rice soup. Followed the recipe precisely. Nothing like pudding. Saved the meal by adding some other egg and baking it in the oven. I would not try this again.

I needed a quick dessert for some dinner guests that are "gluten free", and I found this. It was a big hit and some of the non gluten gratuitous guests chose this over the upscale cakes and pies that I fabricated. I doubled the recipe and for the terminal cup of milk I added half and half. I'm keeping this i for a regular dessert.

My husband decided to purchase fifty pounds of rice. This is a swell style to use some of it upwards. Besides the fact that it is yummy. I made sure that to temper the eggs and bring to a slow boil so information technology thickened up. Yummmy!

Made this for my male parent who e'er wants me to brand rice pudding from have- out leftovers. I doubled the recipe and used unsweetened almond milk, half the saccharide as Monk Fruit Sugar and sprinkled cinnamon and nutmeg on the elevation. The cooked egg makes this admittedly delicious. Now my go-to recipe.

Works perfectly as written! I bumped up the vanilla to a full tsp and added a half tsp cinnamon to match our personal taste. Make sure to temper your egg mixture earlier mixing it in.

I just made this recipe for the first time, unremarkably I use uncooked rice and bake it, simply I had enough cooked rice to double the recipe. I followed the recipe, used fat gratuitous milk, which is what nosotros have. I patiently stirred and slowly cooked the rice for the 2 min and it was truly thick and very creamy! I knew that if I added eggs as is the recipe would take to be named scrambled egg pudding!*! So I tempered them by adding about 1/2 or so of the cooking pudding into the eggs while whisking them and then poured the egg mixture into the pot while stirring quickly in order to incorporate the ingredients together. I cooked the mixture until everything was perfectly flossy again, and added double the vanilla and most 1 one/2 teaspoons of cinnamon so that it tastes like heaven to me and my family. Easy enough anyone can make this!!

I fabricated a rice pudding only vaguely based off this. It wound out super yummy! I used leftover red rice, low fat milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, and only 1/four c brown sugar. I cooked the milk and rice at a lower rut for about forty min until it got to a nice creamy consistency. Then I added the last of the milk, and brought information technology to about halfway to the consistency i wanted. I added the sugar and stirred. Then, earlier information technology got too thick, i added the egg, which fabricated it thicken up perfectly! The pudding is extremely rich tasting, and super flossy. I just made this and the flavor is awesome. Information technology is a bit runny but that is a whole lot better than dry pudding. I cooked the rice and milk with a vanilla bean and then at the end removed the caviar from the bean and added information technology to the pudding. I also added cinnamon to the recipe. I will definitely be using this one again.

I had no idea making rice pudding was this easy and quick! It was absolutely delicious and almost embarrassingly easy as well. I added lots of cinnamon and a fiddling nutmeg too. As others accept mentioned, information technology only took near 8 minutes for mine to thicken before adding the egg/milk/sugar mixture slowly as I stirred the rice mixture every bit to not scramble the eggs. Maybe the corporeality of time fluctuates quite a bit depending on the cooking surface used though? Mine was induction. I also think the type of milk and % is key to the thickening process too. I love to use the "Horizon" brand 2% which is ultra homogenized and always becomes creamier than regular homogenized brands when I use it for frothing in coffee.

Sometimes the simplest things are the best! This is made with bones ingredients and is a very easy process. Side by side time I'm going to endeavor calculation some dried cranberries, or cherries, and probably some rum. Definitely a "go-to"!

I made this exactly equally written (added 3/iv tsp cinnamon though). It came out thick and creamy! Volition definitely keep this as a favorite. I read the bad reviews and saw comments like, "rice was too business firm" and "loose" and "watery". Hither is what I remember went wrong: 1. Make sure you utilise cooked rice ii. Employ whole milk 3. In the beginning, the recipe states to melt 1-i/2 cups of the milk, table salt and the cooked rice. If you cook these ingredients together for 15-20 minutes, you will see information technology thicken and get flossy from the rice starch. I had too much leftover long grain white rice, and a box of 1% parmalat that needed to be used up...and this withal turned out fantastic. I left out the raisins because I like them on top, and added a lilliputian cinnamon and nutmeg to the egg when I shell information technology. Otherwise followed the recipe exactly. Very proficient. used leftover jasmine rice from dinner. super like shooting fish in a barrel stove elevation recipe. For the last 1/2 cup of milk I used 1/two 1/two for more richness. I added a dash of cinnamon to each serving cup. It's only what I am used to. Rice, milk, saccharide what could exist bad.

This is great rice pudding. Hard to eat just ane serving. I accept made it several times, always with whole milk for swell rich, creamy flavor, and mix the egg in with the remaining milk to avoid whatever cooked egg pieces- and I have never had to temper the egg in this recipe because the heat just isn't that high and I stir very well every bit I add the egg/milk mixture. I accept never had a problem with this recipe beingness runny. Hadn't fabricated it for several years when my boyfriend brought home some uneaten pasty rice from a Thai eatery . I hate to waste product anything, so I spread it out on a cookie canvas to break up the clumps and went ahead with the recipe. Delicious! Fifty-fifty people who were not crazy for rice pudding thought it was bully. I thought I would want cinnamon on it because I love that flavor, just the sense of taste was and so sublime it wasn't necessary. Cheers!

Recipe works perfectly past itself. I made a few changes. Added ½ teaspoon of cinnamon with the egg and saccharide. I also toasted some ¼ cup of cashews (not whole, but split) in a tablespoon of ghee on medium depression for iv-v minutes until gold dark-brown. I added that instead of the butter that was mentioned in the recipe. Information technology was fine without ghee or cashews, simply they definitely took them to another level!

Had a sweet tooth and then I just decided to brand this. Information technology was fantastic! I added a little extra rice and a piddling pulverization sugar to help thicken. Added cinnamon and omitted raisens and it was the perfect treat! Will definitely be making alot more than ofttimes!
